אודותינו
בית הספר הישראלי בברוקליין הינו ארגון ללא מטרות רווח. הוא נוסד בשנת 1969 על ידי קבוצת הורים, אשר שאפו להקים בית ספר שבו תלמד השפה העברית ותישמר המסורת היהודית, באווירה ישראלית.
בית הספר מיועד לתלמידים דוברי עברית בגילאי גנון - גיל 3 עד כיתה ז' - גיל 13, ומאפשר להם להיות חלק ממסגרת חינוכית וחברתית שמאפשרת חיבור לישראל, לימוד ושימוש קבוע בשפה העברית.
חופשות וחגים הינם בהתאם לשנת הלימודים בבתי הספר הציבוריים של ברוקליין וחגי ישראל.
תוכנית הלימודים מקבילה לתוכנית הנלמדת בבתי הספר בישראל.
בית הספר פונה למשפחות דוברות עברית המתגוררות בברוקליין, ניוטון, בוסטון והסביבה. בית הספר פתוח למשפחות חדשות שזה עתה הגיעו לאיזור ולמשפחות ותיקות. תלמידים המגיעים לבוסטון לתקופה קצובה זוכים לקבלת פנים וסביבה תומכת, המקלה על התאקלמותם בסביבה החדשה. בית הספר גם מכין תלמידים לקראת חזרתם לארץ להקלת קליטתם במערכת החינוך הישראלית.
תלמידים החיים בבוסטון באופן קבוע ילמדו עברית יחד עם מנהגי ישראל באופן חוויתי, תוך כוונה לספק להם את החוויה התרבותית שחוו הוריהם שגדלו בישראל.
מקורות ההכנסה הם מדמי ההשתתפות הנגבים ומתרומות. כל התרומות מוכרות לצורך ניכוי מס.
ABOUT US
The Israeli Complementary School (ICS) is an after school program for Hebrew speaking students in grades Pre K – 6 (Ages 3-13). Our curriculum adheres to the curriculum taught in schools in Israel, and covers Hebrew language, history, geography and Jewish holidays, all from the Israeli perspective.
The ICS in Brookline is a non-profit organization founded in 1969 by a group of parents who sought to establish a place where Hebrew language can be taught and Jewish tradition maintained in an Israeli atmosphere. The school is managed by a Board of parents and is led by the school Academic Principal.
Vacations and holidays correspond to the Jewish calendar, and the Brookline Public School calendar.
The school serves Hebrew-speaking families living in Brookline, Newton and the Boston area.
Students whose stay in Boston is temporary receive support and a warm welcome that enables them to adapt to new surroundings. The school also prepares these students for a smooth return to the Israeli school system.
Students whose stay in Boston is permanent, learn the Hebrew language in conjunction with Israeli customs with the intent of providing the cultural experiences their parents received while growing up in Israel
Our revenue sources are from tuition and contributions. All contributions are recognized for tax purpose.
